They received the call at 5.30am this morning. The burnt-out car was found in nearby Magor Street. Cambrian Road is currently closed while investigations continue. The incident happened on the day of the Newport Marathon, in which almost 6,000 runners are taking part. The start of the race was delayed due to traffic issues, not connected to the incident in Cambrian Road. Iftekhar Haris, the manager of The Courtyard, the nightclub outside which the incident happened, said: "The situation got quite bad where people were basically attacking the vehicle because the vehicle had actually hit someone. "Then the unbelievable happened, where the driver actually went across onto the pavement and hit two girls, two innocent girls, who were just sat there at the end of the night... and hit them, not only once, but actually reversed back, and I don’t know whether it was intentional or not, but actually went and hit the person a second time." Gwent Police said it was called "to a report of an incident involving a vehicle and pedestrians". A spokeswoman said: "The incident happened at around 5.30am this morning on Cambrian Road in Newport. It’s believed the vehicle, which was a Blue Ford C Max, collided with four people - three women and a man. Following the incident, the driver of the car made off in the direction of Maindee. "The driver of the vehicle is described as black and aged in his twenties. The vehicle was later found burnt out on Magor Street in Newport. All of those injured have been taken to hospital for treatment. Their conditions are currently being assessed but it’s believed that two of the girls have received potentially life changing injuries. Cambrian Road is currently closed while investigations continue." Superintendent Glyn Fernquest said: "This is a shocking incident for everyone involved. Specialist officers are currently investigating and are appealing for information in relation to identifying the driver of this vehicle. I’d like to just reassure the public that this incident is not believed to be terror related and has no links to the Newport marathon that is taking place this morning. Между прочим, сепары - гады-немцы! Они собираются прекратить работы по осушению на «Юнкоме», когда вода зайдёт в "камеру", это будет конечно не Чернобыль, но уровень радиации в регионе поднимется, а потом всё это пойдёт в Миус, в Ростовскую область, в Таганрогский залив... И будет всем счастье

Если серьёзно, то зарекаться конечно не приходится, но на мой взгляд это маловероятный вариант развития событий. Кстати, повышенная тревожность, постоянное ожидание каких-то негативных событий, может быть проявлением ПТСР
