AlterEgo is a closed-loop, non-invasive, wearable system that allows humans to converse in high-bandwidth natural language with machines, artificial intelligence assistants, services, and other people without any voice—without opening their mouth, and without any discernible movements—simply by vocalizing internally.  The wearable captures electrical signals, induced by subtle but deliberate movements of internal speech articulators when a user intentionally vocalizes internally, in likeness to speaking to one's self.  We use this to facilitate a bi-directional natural language computing system, where users receive aural output through bone-conduction earphones without obstructing a user's physical senses. This enables a user to transmit and receive streams of information to and from a computing device or any other person without any observable action, in discretion and without invasion of the user's privacy. AlterEgo aims to combine humans and computers—such that computing, the internet, and AI would weave into human personality as a “second self” and augment human cognition and abilities.

The crow bit into the panda's buttocks and pulled out a ball of fur when the bear was not aware

The hilarious moment was captured when a black and white bear was resting on a log in its enclosure on April 9.

One crow approached the protected species from its back and started to pluck its white fur around the bottom.

Вчені з Швейцарії, провели експеримент на 27 тваринах, пише УП життя.

Досліди проводилися за згоди власників собак та Цюріхського кантонального ветеринарного департаменту.

Псів вчили приводити людей до трьох ящиків: один містив улюблені собачі ласощі, другий – менш смачну їжу, а третій був порожнім. При цьому до собак приставили два типи опікунів.

Одні були спільниками тварин та на фініші ділилися з ними вмістом ящика, інші – конкурентами та забирали собі те, що лежало всередині. У перший день досліджень тварини чесно приводили всіх людей до “найсмачніших” ящиків.

Однак на другий день собаки зрозуміли, хто саме може з ними поділитися, та вже менш охоче приводили опікунів-конкурентів до своєї улюбленої їжі, а вели їх до пустих ящиків.

При цьому одразу по тому опікунів-спільників вони впевнено вели до смачненького, бо знали, що ті ділитимуться.

 

“Ці результати показують, що собаки здатні розрізняти наміри партнерів, та вказують на гнучкість тварин у питанні регулювання своєї поведінки, – йдеться в дослідженні опублікованому в журналі Animal Cognition. – Тобто вони здатні на тактичний обман”.
